Duplicity was quite fun - the plot was convoluted enough to be interesting, but not so much so that I gave up in despair.  It required just enough concentration to stop me going to sleep, but didn't give me a headache.  The script was fairly sharp, the premise was entertaining, and a lot of the peripheral actors were very good.

And then there were Julia Roberts and Clive Owen.  Now, I know they can play convincingly as a couple, because I've seen it done in Closer, but here the chemistry was non-existent.  I just could not believe that these two people were remotely attracted to each other, which was a real shame because the dynamic of the relationship on the page was really very well done.

Clive Owen also approached the character of a double agent in a really interesting way - he was so unconvincing when playing his "real" persona, that it made him indistinguishable when he was "acting" within the role - rather than being utterly believable both when lying and telling the truth, he wasn't credible in either activity, which I guess achieves the same aim!

So, a good idea, with a good script, rather let down by casting - but overall quite an enjoyable film.
