Too...Many...Memes...
So, I'm just going to do the most interesting one, ridiculously late though it may be...
1.What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Moved to London - always said I never would, but I kinda like it now I'm here!
2.Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make specific New Year's Resolutions, though there are a few ongoing things in the lifestyle/development category that I've been working on for several years and will continue to do so.
3.Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, although the first of my close group of friends got pregnant - baby's due in about three weeks!
4.Did anyone close to you die?
My last remaining grandparent, in January.
5.What countries did you visit?
The Ionian Islands.
6.What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
A job I don't hate - here's hoping the one I start in two weeks will turn out better than the last two.
7.What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
5th February - a walk in the Peak District, a Turkish meal, some judicious moving of remote controls and - hey presto! - boyfriend! :o)
8.What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not letting stupid preconceptions and a self-imposed hermitage get in the way of a wonderful new relationship.
9.What was your biggest failure?
Letting a very bad job situation destroy the confidence I'd spent several years building up.
10.Did you suffer illness or injury?
No - has everyone heard my "Unbreakable" theory?
11.What was the best thing you bought?
My flat.
12.Whose behavior merited celebration?
weaselbitch
13.Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The evil people running the last two companies I worked at - how does rewarding dedication and hard work with unfounded accusations and oppressive work conditions hope to lead to a loyal workforce?
14.Where did most of your money go?
Food - always the way with me.
15.What events did you get really, really, really excited about?
The Gathering.
16.What song will always remind you of 2005?
Cindy Lauper - Time After Time…
17.Compared to this time last year, are you:
i.happier or sadder? Happier - the good things in life have got better, and the bad things have lessened in importance and are hopefully on the road to improvement.
ii.thinner or fatter? Definitely fatter, but I gave up worrying about that a long time ago.
iii.richer or poorer? I earn more, but I spend more, and I still haven't saved anything, so probably about the same.
18.What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing. I know I say I can only write when the mood strikes, but some effort has to go into it, or I just won't do anything at all.
19.What do you wish you'd done less of?
Looking for work - that is, I wish I hadn't had to do that at all. The actual process was remarkably stress-free on both occasions.
20.How will you be spending Christmas?
Proving to my parents that
cholten99 fits in with our family brilliantly (this was extremely successful, by the way).

My mother - I think she's the only person I really talk to on the phone.

Hell, yes!!!!!
23. How many one-night stands?
Never have, never will.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Lost, because it's excellent and I have several great people to share it with.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hatred is a waste of energy that could be used far more constructively.
26. What was the best book you read?
I read lots of good books in 2005 - the best was probably "The Mysterious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time", but I most enjoyed The Farseer Trilogy.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery or rediscovery?
Bowling For Soup
28. What did you want and get?
A more active social life.
29. What did you want and not get?
Enough money to go horseriding regularly - something I hope will be remedied by my significantly higher salary at the new job.
30. What were your favorite films of this year?
Nothing fantastic springs to mind - possibly Night Watch.
31.What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 28, and I didn't really do anything.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Having the guts to tell the evil bitch from hell who ran the company I worked for at the start of 2005 exactly what I thought of her.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
Black trousers + coloured shirt in the week, co-ordinated farmer at weekends. Hopefully, I will branch out into something more exciting and better suited to me when I go clothes shopping in between jobs.
34. What kept you sane?
Fantastic friends and family, and a wonderful new partner.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most/least?
The most – Josh Holloway, maybe?
The least – David Walliams

Shooting people on the underground was a tad scary.
37. Whom did you miss?
Simon and James - too much drifting apart, which must be rectified.
38. Who were the best new people you met?
Andy, Claire, Kat, Mark, Simpson, Toos - fabulous new friends!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
Don't overthink things. Go with your instincts and let life take its course.
40. Do you have any lost feelings of others?
Not entirely sure what this question means, but I lost a good friend at the end of March for reasons I still don't understand. I wish that could have turned out differently.
