Girl With A Pearl Earring review

The new show at the Haymarket - Girl With A Pearl Earring - was well-staged and an intriguing story. I knew nothing about the plot before going in, and found the interaction of the eight characters skilfully conceived and largely well-acted, though a couple of the younger cast members were a little stiff at times. The ending was quite abrupt, though, as there was a definite gap between the conclusion of the flashback and the timeframe of the enclosing bookend scenes, which left several questions unanswered. Still, it was an enjoyable evening, and I was grateful for the free ticket.
