Talking to Dragons review
Sep. 12th, 2008 06:59 pmSadly, Talking to Dragons, the last in the Enchanted Forest series, was not nearly as good as the other three. It was very different, being written in first rather than third person, and dealing with largely new characters. The annoying thing about it was that the protagonist spent the whole book not knowing what was going on, but I knew absolutely everything that was going on because I'd read the previous book - so it wasn't exactly a mystery story, and Daystar (the unknowing prince) wandering about oblivious to the plot was rather irritating.
It also wrapped everything up just a little too neatly at the end, and the reunion of my two favourite characters from the previous two books (after a separation of seventeen years) was rushed over very quickly.
Shame, because the rest of the series was excellent.
